Flick of the Finger and Oscillate Recordings have been in partnership for many years in various projects and there is no other recording studio we would recommend enough.
Oscillate Recording was initially set up by Chris Hughes as Oscillate Studios in 2011. During this time he helped build and design a recording facility in Knutsford and one on Hilton Street in the Norther Quarter part of Manchester. This was merged into one company in February 2016 with the new name Oscillate Recordings.
Chris is the manager and head engineer of Oscillate Recordings and has over 15 years experience as an engineer, producer, songwriter, musician and also running a record label.
During this time he has engineered and worked for top UK acts such The Courteeners, Peter Hook, The La Fontaines, Laura White, Lucy Spraggan, Richard Fleeshman and as a producer for BBC Outreach’s Keep It Real project in conjunction with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
Oscillate Recordings is a recording studio and post-production studio, spanning two studios in Manchester’s Northern Quarter and Knutsford, Cheshire.
To ensure top quality we have world class studio equipment ranging from a Neve Genesys Black desk, extensive analogue outboard gear (Fairchild, GML, CL-1B, LA-76, LA-2A, GML8200 to name a few), Avid HDX, ATC 300 monitors and acoustically treated rooms by Roger Darcy as well as much more.
They also have an extremely experienced team of engineers, producers, songwriters and musicians to respond to any job from signed/unsigned artists, record labels, film or TV companies to someone just starting out with their music.
The Cheshire studio in Knutsford is about 1.5 miles (5 minute drive) from the train Station and has it’s own off-road parking. It is ground level based which is ideal for bands bringing in equipment.
The site is located right in the vibrant Northern Quarter so there are plenty of restaurants, café’s, pubs, shops, but also we have our own kitchen and refreshment area.
